Additional Minnesota Timberwolves Info

The Minnesota Timberwolves began play in 1989 as an expansion team alongside the Orlando Magic. As a new team, the “T-Wolves” struggled on the court, winning no more than 29 games in any of their first 7 seasons. In 1995, the Timberwolves drafted teenage forward Kevin Garnett straight out of high school. While Garnett can be credited with turning the team’s fortunes around, he was unable to lead it past the first round of post-season play in any of Minnesota’s first 7 playoff appearances.

Before the 2003–2004 season, the Minnesota Timberwolves added veteran guards Sam Cassell and Latrell Sprewell to the roster. With these new additions and Garnett leading the way, Minnesota Timberwolves Ticket Holders saw the team win its first division title and its first playoff series, advancing to the Western Conference finals before ultimately being eliminated by the Los Angeles Lakers.

The team traded away Garnett in 2007 and built a team centered around forward Kevin Love that steadily improved over the next few years. In 2013–2014, Minnesota Timberwolves Ticket Holders saw the team finish with a 40–42 record. Although the team missed the playoffs, it was their best finish in a decade. Love was traded during the following off-season, and the T-Wolves found themselves at the bottom of the league once again. The Timberwolves then rebuilt around a promising young core featuring center Karl-Anthony Towns and all-star. The Minnesota Timberwolves returned to post-season play in 2018, after a 14-year play-off drought.

The Timberwolves play all home games at the Target Center. Fans of the Minnesota Timberwolves can get tickets to all of the on-court action from Golden Tickets.
